Blackwater's my favorite refuge of the half dozen I've been to so far. It's by far the best place to see Bald Eagles year round in the Mid Atlantic, and probably all of the East Coast excluding Florida.
The 2010 Eagle Count at Blackwater recorded 173 eagles, 7 of which were Golden Eagles. I've seen golden eagles there a few times, and gotten good images just one day in January 2009.
Blackwater is also home to Osprey, Red-Tailed Hawks and Red Foxes to just name a few species...
The endangered Delmarva Fox Squirrel can also be seen throughout the refuge, but are harder to photograph than the eagles actually.
